This explains how Filekind handles information when you turn photos into a PDF. Filekind is operated by Joel Cristobal, based in New Jersey, United States, at filekind.io.
Photos and PDFs
Your browser prepares your photos and creates the PDF on your device. We do not upload those files, their names, or their image metadata to our servers or a conversion service. Selected files are held in browser memory for this session, not in browser storage. Clearing the selection or leaving the page releases them. Downloads you save remain wherever you save them.
The PDF contains locally prepared images; original location and camera metadata are not copied into it. Anything visible in the photo remains visible in the PDF.
Basic usage counts
We send a small event when a conversion starts, succeeds, fails, or the download button is clicked. Our database stores daily totals for this tool and each event, not individual visitor histories. Counts are approximate; a click does not tell us whether a download finished. Aggregate totals may be kept indefinitely.
Website analytics
We use Plausible Analytics on filekind.io to understand pageviews, visits, and conversion events. We send known page paths and referring site origins, without query parameters or fragments. We do not send photos, PDFs, filenames, feedback answers, or error details to Plausible.
Plausible also measures engagement time and scroll depth. It derives device and approximate location information from requests and uses a daily, site-specific identifier to estimate unique visitors. According to Plausible’s data policy, raw IP addresses and User-Agent strings are not stored, and analytics uses no cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. Plausible stores event and session records in the EU to produce statistics. We retain analytics while useful for operating the service, subject to our provider’s retention terms.
Your feedback
If you send feedback, we store your yes/no answer, an optional topic, the tool name, and the time. We do not ask for your email address, attachments, or a written message. Feedback may be kept indefinitely to guide improvements.
Security and hosting
To limit automated requests, our server briefly uses your network address to derive a protected, minute-specific identifier. The raw address is not stored in our application database. These identifiers are pseudonymous, not fully anonymous. Rate-limit records expire after two minutes and are deleted in bounded batches when the API receives traffic. If traffic stops, expired records remain until cleanup resumes.
Our hosting and database providers may process ordinary request and security logs under their own retention practices. These may include network addresses. We use no advertising scripts, session replay, tracking cookies, or remote font services.
Sharing
When you use Share PDF, your device sends the PDF to the destination you choose. That destination’s privacy practices apply.

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use this correspondence to respond to you and handle your request. Our email provider processes these messages, and we keep correspondence as needed to resolve the request and maintain necessary records. Please do not send photos or documents that you only want to convert.
We do not receive or store your selected photos or PDFs, so we cannot retrieve or delete copies saved on your device. Our own database’s aggregate usage counts and feedback have no account or visitor identifier; we may be unable to associate those records with a particular person.
